A Flexible Way to Support Housing Families
You can support Housing Families by recommending a grant through your donor-advised fund. Donor-advised funds are tax-efficient giving accounts that allow donors to contribute assets, recommend charitable grants, and support the organizations they care about over time.
Benefits of Giving Through a Donor-Advised Fund
Giving through a donor-advised fund may allow you to:
- Avoid paying capital gains tax on long-term appreciated assets held for more than one year.
- Receive an immediate tax deduction for the full market value of the gift, up to specified limits.
- Contribute a wide range of assets.
- Consolidate your charitable giving.
- Support Housing Families through strategic giving over time.
- Create a generational legacy.
How to Recommend a Grant
There are two ways to recommend a grant to Housing Families through your donor-advised fund:
Recommend a grant through your fund administrator.
You can recommend a gift to Housing Families by contacting your fund administrator or by making a grant recommendation online.
Set up recurring grants.
You can set up recurring grants to support Housing Families’ mission of housing equity and wellbeing for all. This can be done online or by contacting your fund administrator and choosing your grant frequency.
Support Housing Families on DAF Day
DAF Day is a national day of giving through donor-advised funds and an opportunity to create a powerful show of strength through generosity.
If you already have a donor-advised fund, DAF Day is a meaningful opportunity to recommend a grant to Housing Families and invite others to give alongside you.
Here’s how you can participate:
- Learn about donor-advised funds. If you do not already have a DAF, learn how they work and whether this giving option is right for you.
- Set a reminder. If you already have a DAF, plan ahead for DAF Day.
- Share your commitment. Invite your network to support Housing Families through DAF giving.
- Track your impact. Make your DAF gifts through the DAF Day Giving Page so your generosity can be counted in real time.
- Join #HalfMyDAF. Make a grant, download or screenshot your grant confirmation, and complete the #HalfMyDAF commitment form.
