At Housing Families, our commitment to ensuring housing stability has led us to the creation of our annual events. From fundraising efforts to policy discussions with Massachusetts officials, our events demonstrate our focus on achieving housing equity and wellbeing for all.

Young Professionals Advisory Council Events

The Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC) are young volunteer leaders who partner with Housing Families to learn about housing advocacy, build their networks and community relationships, and grow their professional skillsets, while striving to achieve housing equity and well-being for all.

YPAC recently hosted a fun and successful Spring 2022 kick-off event. Check back here for more YPAC events!

Health & Homelessness 5K: Powered by BOND

Started in 2020 as a virtual 5K amidst the pandemic, the Housing Families Health & Homelessness 5K serves as a meaningful way to come together for Homelessness Awareness Week in November. Participants can run, walk, or hike—from wherever they are, or join us in-person in Medford!

Keep an eye for the date of the 2022 Health and Homes for All 5K!

Legislative Breakfast

Housing Families holds a Legislative Breakfast in the spring to give our clients a platform to advocate to policymakers and to discuss policymaking and legislation with Massachusetts officials. The Legislative Breakfast provides an update on our housing equity efforts across Greater Boston, particularly in Malden, Chelsea, Everett, Revere, and Melrose.

The 2022 Legislative Breakfast was held on May 12, 2022.

This year the event honored Malden Mayor Gary Christenson as the 2022 Housing Hero and La Colaborativa in Chelsea as the 2022 Health Heroes. Attendees also heard a powerful story about health, housing, and resiliency from advocate and Housing Families’ client, Maria Willess.
