Role Purpose & Responsibilities

Purpose

The GREAT Youth and Families Program is a multidisciplinary team that provides individualized clinical care to children, adolescents, adults, and families through education, prevention intervention, therapeutic treatment services, academic support, and advocacy. This position will work in conjunction with the program staff, graduate counseling interns, and other agency staff to create a welcoming environment that values clients as partners in their care and wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Clinical Director and other staff to provide crisis intervention and trauma-informed therapy to clients utilizing various treatment modalities, (i.e., individual, family, group, and expressive arts, play therapy).
  • Perform initial assessment and evaluation of new clients and families. Identify treatment needs and appropriate interventions according to client needs.
  • Coordinate referrals and provide consultation as needed.
    Provide appropriate and on-going documentation including, but not limited to, progress notes and termination summaries in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with relevant collaterals such as case managers, referring agencies, schools, primary care physicians, and family members to ensure coordination of care in accordance with agency policy and applicable laws pertaining to client confidentiality.
  • Attend in-service training and outside seminars to enhance and develop clinical skills.
  • May provide training, workshops and consultations to teachers, parents and collateral staff.
  • Participate in outreach to families for parenting groups and children’s programming.
  • Work at multiple sites within the organization as needed.
    Perform program specific duties and functions.

Qualifications / Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must have experience working with children, and also be bilingual in Spanish and English. Applicants who have experience working with families from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. This position is full-time.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a CORI/SORI background check.
  • Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or closely related field and be license-eligible. LMHC, LCSW, LICSW, LMFT preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience.
  • Experience facilitating individual, group, and or family therapy sessions.
  • Ability to work in-person & provide telehealth (when needed).
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write and speak in both languages.
