Support Our Work

There are many ways you can help us transform lives.

Housing Families is a friendly, supportive organization with ample opportunities for those in the Greater Boston area who are looking to volunteer. If you want to learn more about homelessness in and around Boston while giving back to the community, Housing Families is the place for you!

Check out volunteer opportunities here.

The biggest impact you can make is to donate to Housing Families and help some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

You can also donate much needed items to our families who have to start all over again when they transition from shelter to a place of their own.

For a family living on the edge of homelessness, the cost of household items can be a huge obstacle.  You can help by hosting a drive for needed items. Housing Families has two main drives each year – our annual Backpack Drive that collects backpacks and school supplies for the children in our programs and our annual Gift Drive which allows families to “shop” for gifts for their children during the holiday and for birthdays throughout the year.

In the past, individuals and organizations have held their own drives to provide cleaning supplies, diapers, linens (twin or double bed sheets, pillows, towels, blankets, etc.), household goods (pots and pans, plates, flatware, etc.), fans to help families stay cool in the summer, and even art supplies for our GREAT Youth and Family Program.

If you are interested in participating in an event or hosting a drive for Housing Families, contact communications@housingfamilies.org.
