Meet Our Staff – Siobhan Malady

Meet Siobhan!

For this month’s #MeetOurStaff segment, we’re highlighting  Siobhan Malady, our Program Manager/Educational Specialist at our after-school program, the GREAT Youth and Families Program.

  1. My full name is  Siobhan (Shaw-bin) Maura Malady
  2. I was born on Tuesday January 12
  3. My star sign is Capricorn
  4. My parents are amazing, loving, caring human beings
  5. I have 3 siblings
  6. I am currently at Salem State university for a masters in Special Education
  7. I am saving up for Adventure because I love exploring and learning new things
  8. My home is in Wakefield and I have lived here for 5 years
  9. I love people who are quirky and will laugh with me
  10. My favorite activities include soccer, traveling, being with family and I love to do this because they make me feel happy and relaxed
  11. My favorite color is blue because it reminds me of the ocean which is my favorite place to be in the summer
  12. I love to say “well if you look at it this way then its not so bad” and something I say a lot is probably “yes we can do that, I’ll figure it out” (this is usually to adding more to the program even if we don’t really have the people or time.)
  13. My favorite meal involves friends and my favorite snack food is chocolate and peanut butter on apples
  14. I consider myself to be normal and fitness is important to me because it is a stress reducer
  15. I am managed madness (come check out my desk)
  16. The best time of the day to me is the afternoon because I get paid to hang out with kids!
  17. I need to have a laugh every day
  18. My favorite movie of all time is Cinderella
  19. My all-time role model is my mother and father because they gave to others even when they worried they didn’t have enough to give to us.  They taught me that money comes and goes but good friendship and loving family is there forever
  20. The first concert event I ever went to was New Kids on the Block when I was in 3rd grade and I went with my father.  Poor man was surrounded by screaming children and teenagers.
  21. The best thing anyone has ever said to me is I’m proud of you
  22. I am happy when I am with others that I love and care for
  23. I find poop jokes funny (also kid snippets are hilarious!  It’s a youtube video of kids telling a story and their parents acting it out, lipsincing to the kids voices.  It’s a riot!)
  24. Are you named after anyone? No, just hippie parents doing the hippy thang.
  25. The first thing I notice about people is their eyes.  I have been told I make extremely intense eye contact which can be uncomfortable for some. I am working on that.
  26. My favorite smell is the beach
  27. The furthest I’ve ever been from home is Germany
  28. What do you want to be when you grow up?  I haven’t figured that out yet and I hope I never do.  I love exploring and learning new things and trying new things.  Right now I am working towards understanding the education system.  Once I have figured that out I want to learn about policy writing.  If I grow up that will be a sad day for me.

Tune in next month when we highlight another one of our fantastic staff members! #HFIpeeps
