Malden priorities in state Senate’s FY16 Budget


The state Senate has passed its version of the fiscal 2016 state budget, which included budget amendments for key Malden priorities, according to state Sen. Jason Lewis.

The state Senate passed a budget amendment for $100,000 in funding for educational support programming for homeless children through the GREAT Youth and Families Program, run through Housing Families of Malden.

“Housing Families does tremendous work, and they are able to reach families and young people that the system may too often overlook or underserve, including through invaluable education programs like the GREAT Youth and Families Program,” Lewis said in a press release.
