Giving During the Holidays

The families we serve face many different kinds of struggles – financial, emotional, physical, and more – to maintain their households. Giving during the holidays helps homeless children have a joyful holiday season in parallel with coping with the realities of their circumstances.

Each season brings with it a new set of needs. During the holidays we hold our annual gift drive, while over the summer we host a backpack drive in preparation for the school year.

“Housing Families made holidays better. On Christmas they made sure we had presents under the tree and birthday cakes on our birthdays.”

–Kristen, HFI teen client

Holiday Gift Drive

Housing Families hosts an annual holiday gift drive for the at-risk and homeless children in our programs and we rely on the generosity of supporters like you.

Beginning in November and through December 13, we accept new, unwrapped gifts for children ages 11 to 18 years who are in our programs. We ask that you consider donating gifts for children 10 years old and younger to our partner organizations,  since this year we have a greater need for gifts for our youth between the ages of 11 to 18.

Please visit our homepage for all the details or click on the thumbnail below to view/print/share the 2019 Holiday Gift Drive flyer. Thank you for helping our children enjoy the magic of the holiday season!

We also have a great need for Stop’n’Shop, Target, and Visa gift cards.

Annual Backpack Drive

Housing Families needs your help to prepare children for school! Each year from May to August, Housing Families collects new backpacks and school supplies for the

children in our  emergency shelters and various programs. Your support ensures a great start to the school year!
