Sal Lupoli is a true American success story; a visionary entrepreneur who’s built several successful businesses from the ground up over the past two decades. As the founder and leader of Sal’s Pizza (Wholesale/Retail), Salvatore’s Restaurants and Riverwalk Properties, and JeNet Management, Sal employs more than 800 people. During the past two decades, his innovative concepts in team-building have created a culture of camaraderie and success resulting in Sal raising over 250 million in capital through his various business interests. Displaying a keen sense of business acumen, along with his boundless energy, Sal has created an impressively layered and diverse real estate portfolio along with a multi-faceted hospitality company.
Sal Lupoli is a classic “self-made man,” who, as a third-grader, actually wrote a paper saying he wanted to own a restaurant when he grew up! Today, while still in his mid-forties, he has realized his dreams and exceeded them with business empires in the restaurant, wholesale and real estate industries under the umbrella of The Lupoli Companies.
While attending Northeastern University, Sal worked in Boston’s North End learning all aspects of the pizza trade. After receiving his degree in Business Management from Northeastern, Sal and his brother Nick created Sal’s Pizza, opening their first store in Salem, New Hampshire in 1990. Two decades later there are over 50 Sal’s Pizza restaurants throughout the United States.
Today, overlooking the Merrimack River, in Lawrence MA, is Sal’s crown jewel, Riverwalk Properties, which houses a staggering 2.6 million square feet of office, retail and manufacturing spaces. A showcase for revitalization of one of the poorest cities in the Commonwealth, Riverwalk Properties has set the bar for Gateway Cities in Massachusetts. And with almost 200 companies on-site at Riverwalk, and nearly 4000 jobs, Sal Lupoli’s efforts have stimulated economic development and job creation. Consequently, his real estate empire is still growing with a brand new state-of-the-art medical building in Andover and mixed-use development in Lowell.
Despite all this success, Sal believes deeply in “giving back” to the community through his participation in numerous civic activities: he designed a reading program in the Billerica, MA Public School, is a donor to Pop Warner and Little League teams, Habitat for Humanity, Camp Fatima and Adelante Youth Center, Lawtown Boxing Club, Debbie’s Treasure Chest, and is a football coach for Chelmsford High School and Chelmsford Pop Warner. Sal is consistently recognized for his contributions to youth and veteran organizations.
