Host A Gathering
Host a gathering with a purpose - have a great time among
family, friends and colleagues and at the same time, raise awareness and
funds to support homeless children and their families in Greater Boston.
Recent budget cuts have threatened our ability to help all the kids and
parents we serve, throughout the year.
Let us help you create an event that you'll be proud of.
IDEAS FOR YOUR GATHERING:
- Host an after-work reception in your office, for staff and clients
- Invite friends and neighbors to your home
- Gather at a favorite restaurant for "a night out with a twist"
- Consider combining forces and co-sponsoring with a friend!
When you send your
invitations tell people that you'll take a few minutes during the event
to introduce them to a great social service/affordable housing agency you
support - and then the festivities will resume.
Let them know that you will ask them to consider joining you in supporting
Housing Families but without expectations or pressure. If you send
invitations by mail, include a donation envelope for those who can't attend
and/or include a link to www.housingfamilies.org for online donations, if
you are using email.
WAYS TO ENLIST YOUR GUESTS' INTEREST AND SUPPORT:
- Hold a Raffle - Tell your guests that you'll make it easy for
them to open their wallets by having a couple nifty raffle prizes
In-Kind Donation
Form 501 (C)3 Form
- Invite a Housing Families Speaker - A family who's been
helped by the agency's housing and support services and/or staff leader
who can share compelling stories - these short and lively testimonials
and the opportunity to ask questions are extremely effective.
- Use Visuals - Print out photos of
kids and families to describe the agency
It's easy to collect contributions
Housing Families accepts checks, Mastercard and Visa (we will give you
envelopes and slips in advance). You might even have a computer on hand
where guests can make a secure on-line donation right then and there.
Donations are tax-deductible.
Let US Help You!
We will gladly help manage your e-invitations and RSVPs and will you with a
raffle prize if this is a hurdle for you. At Housing Families, we love these
"friend and fundraisers" and will make sure you have a fun and rewarding
event. People tell us that learning about Housing Families has opened their
eyes to the plight of homeless children, as well as filling them with hope
to know that a great organization is providing needed help for so many.
